Plum Blossoms.
I was commission by NYC to paint these barrier benches, located in Straus Square on the Lower East Side. I painted them in September and they were installed in October. Not long after, the inevitable happened, my bench was tagged with purple spray paint. They asked me to touch up the green bench (the yellow bench was spared) which I did last week.
It was a wonderful idea for them to turn the barries into benches and into pieces of functional artwork. I am so grateful to be participating and making our neighborhood (my hometown) a little nicer.
Come by, have a seat, watch the people go by, one of NYC's pastimes, people watching.
I want to wish all the Mom's in the world a Happy Mother's Day! It doesn't matter if you are a stepmom, a furbaby mom, or an adoptive mom, you are all appreciated. I am proud to be the mother of my amazing daughter, Sonia. She reminds me of what is important in life and I am forever grateful. <3
Yesterday I visited The Vessel in Hudson Yards, here in NYC. Before we ascended the 15 story structure, my dancer friend, Maya flew "Iris".
It was such a windy day but I managed to capture this image. Springtime in NYC is magical, all the trees and flowers are starting to bloom. Come visit!
