I guess I always wanted to play it safe and did not expose myself to an underground culture. But, I was always a dissenter.
Even my artwork is quietly controversial, with social political connotations.
Oh well.I am grateful to all the people I meet and the life I have and would not trade it for anything.
And what a year it's been! I hope 2024 brings peace to the world.
In my little corner of the world, I got to work with, and meet some intelligent, compassionate human beings. I hold on to that and keep moving forward, creating new works.

]]>I've gained valuable insight on being a (relatively new) business owner and a deeper look into human behavior. I started my business later in life which was a challenge considering I didn't have business skills.
As a multi disciplined artist, I am excited to have designed this dress and include it to my repertoire. More dresses are in the process. Come spring, I will have new Floral designs and Dog motif scarves. I can not wait to introduce them to the public.
In this image, I chose a royalty free, empty living room and superimposed the tree, the model, books, flowers and colored it to create a monochromatic scene. I taught myself Photoshop years ago and became a professional.
I am sincerely appreciative to be able to continue with my work and be inspired by the good people around me.
Merry Christmas and a peaceful New Year.
Love and thanks, Andrea

Although I appreciate and learned from the tribulations, I much prefer the triumphs!
Thank you for those who support and believe in my work.

Olmsted and Vaux designed Central Park to incorporate a variety of landscapes and experiences. Its 843 acres included sweeping lawns, picturesque woodlands, meandering streams, and broad lakes, all experienced by moving through the Park along winding paths, a carriage drive, and a bridle path. Over time, additional features were added to the Park, including baseball and soccer fields, a carousel, two skating rinks, a zoo, formal gardens, commemorative monuments, and concert and theater venues.
In addition to diverse recreational experiences, Central Park provides great ecological and environmental benefits to the City. It's more than 18,000 trees cool and clean the air and its vast acreage in the center of the City provides habitat for wildlife, including as a stopover on the Atlantic Flyway for over 200 species of birds.
Every massive city needs a park not only as a sanctuary, but as mentioned above, a way to keep the air clean. I always loved the park and photograph the autumn foliage every year. I photographed the lake last weekend.

Seeing a rainbow is always a welcoming surprise. Rainbows are ephemeral and catching one is about timing. Every time I see one I am awestruck.
A rainbow is often a sign of hope, and good fortune at the rainbow's end.
There are 15 wars going on in the world right now. Of course, the most prominent one is the Israeli Palestine war. Heart wrenching to see intentional death and destruction of human beings.
Like a rainbow, we hope for a peaceful resolution in all the wars and always wish for world peace.

As you know, my scarves are printed in eco-conscious mills in the north of Italy.

Our Dahlia design is perfect for the summer and for spending your days or weekends at the shore.
We brought the Dahlia to Montauk and the results are beautiful.

On top of everything, she is kind and generous and a great neighbor.
What an inspiration to us all and I am grateful to have her in my life.
Happy 100th Birthday, dear Elaine.

While running errands or just walking around, I love seeing how shops, restaurants, parks, etc dress up for the month of June, culminating in the huge parade which took place today, June 25th.
Whatever you identify with, it's a great time to come together and celebrate the human race.
Be kind.
]]>My Papa was born a few years shy of the start of the Great Depression. His family emigrated from Sicily and he and his youngest sister were born in Brooklyn.
My father was the baby of 7 children, 5 sisters and one brother. His eldest sister was almost 20 years older than him.
These intelligent, talented activist performed at the Gotham Comedy Club here in Manhattan and we raised quite a bit money that evening. Photographer extraordinaire, Mike Ruiz auctioned off 3 prints that generated most of the contributions. What a wonderful, generous, entertaining man. Orfeh did an amazing job as the host. We are all dog lovers here and believe they deserve respect and to live a loving life.

]]>We, along with other designers/artists have an opportunity to exhibit our unique products that can only be found on line.
Come in, have a glass of Prosecco and shop items that you can't get anywhere else. Happy June!
]]>I introduced Nicole, co-owner of FRFF to actress Diane Cossa and they hit it off.
I am grateful to have smart, talented women supporting my art. Both beauties are wearing the Sunflower and Yellow Orchid scarves.
]]>Every morning when I go to the park to walk my rescue, miniature pinscher, I pass this tree. I didn't notice it at all but It recently exploded with these wispy red flowers and I immediately snapped a few photos.
In the morning the sprays look pink and by late afternoon, they look golden (shown here) with the western sun radiating and bringing it to life. So pretty.
I had no idea what the name of this tree was until I asked my botanist friend, Ted. I can see why it's called a Smoke Tree but I would have named it "Pink Cloud" or "Pink Spray" tree.
Happy Sunday!

Since my daughter moved out and into her own apartment, I hardly get to see her. When the opportunity arises to spend time with her, I jump on the chance. Mother's day was never a big deal to me. I never felt any obligation for my daughter (or her father) to go out for brunch, etc. but since my daughter bar tends at a restaurant in my neighbor, I seized the moment to see her and celebrate!
As always, we had a great time together.

We all attended her 1st year, graduate recital yesterday. Having a child is incredible enough, but watching them grow takes your breath away.
We can only wish the best for her and support her endeavours on becoming a beautiful diva
]]>Seeing the world around us can be dire and exhausting with little hope for the future, but there is good news on the horizon. We are moving towards a more eco-conscious and sustainable life on earth. Country leaders are well aware of climate change and what it can do to the future of life on earth.
If humans can remove themselves from politics, the need to rule (power) and money, we can then see the big picture. Getting everyone on the same environmental page is a challenge but I think, not impossible,
Let's live in a world that could last forever if we can all work together and keep our planet rotating.
Happy Earth Day 2023
]]>I am not sure if Spring or Fall is my favorite season. Both are full of color. I guess I love them both.
We have gorgeous magnolia trees in the park across the street from my apartment. Every year they explode with full, pink blossoms. They create intimate canopies. People come from neighboring areas just to relish in their beauty.
Unfortunately, they are doing construction on the park but you can still see their glorious blooms.
I took this selfie with my rescue, Tuuli. She is making good progress but has a long way to go yet. Her fear is rooted in her previous experience living in an unhealthy environment.
She certainly has a loving, fearless home now. Like all of us, she is a work in progress, and we are so grateful we found her.
]]>For the occasion, I made a dress from 2 Moonflower scarves, it was my first time, and now see I could do more. Scarves do not have to be worn around the neck or head but can be made into dresses or tops.
Contact me if interested in a top or dress.
]]>Tuuli was one of the lucky ones. Although she suffers from severe anxiety, she is happy and healthy since she came to live with me. Most dogs aren't so lucky and live in deplorable conditions.

I should know. I started my second career in my 50s designing these beautiful scarves with my goal of making women look and feel more beautiful and confident. A scarf is a must have in every women's wardrobe and an accessory to take with them everywhere. You never know when you need a scarf to tie on! Before I designed scarves, I was a collector, and always travel with one or two. Now I take mine designs wherever I go.
And now that I can, it feels great to be able to give back. Many know that I give a percentage from the sales from my Floral Seas collection to supporting ocean life and I give to animal shelters when I sell from my collection of Dog motif neckerchiefs.
I am still donating to Ukraine with a purchase of the Sunflower scarf and new Sunflowers for Peace© designs are coming soon, stay tuned!
