Yesterday I visited The Vessel in Hudson Yards, here in NYC. Before we ascended the 15 story structure, my dancer friend, Maya flew "Iris".
It was such a windy day but I managed to capture this image. Springtime in NYC is magical, all the trees and flowers are starting to bloom. Come visit!
Bright and cheery, warm and inviting with their bright yellow flowers reflecting the summer sun. They are rich in history and symbolize adoration, loyalty and longevity. Bursting from the stems, they remind us of their namesake, the sun itself.
I first started making my floral/water art pieces years ago before I turned them into the gorgeous scarves you see here on my webpage. I had exhibited my artwork in the United Nations Federal Credit building for their Earth Day celebration some time ago and they loved them so much that they bought the entire show. They hang throughout the building in Long Island City, NY. I then had the idea of turning the work into lightboxes and posting one here. This one is called Dahlia.
I am grateful for the Italian Sons and Daughters of America adding featuring us on their website. Check it out!
